The Voice 17104 Prelude
As of late September 2014, The Voice 17104 worldwide community radio station began broadcasting. Spearheaded by Station Manager Chris Thomas, who is a radio veteran with over 8 years of radio experience.
Do you remember the times long ago, listening to your choice radio station with your favorite live on-air DJ's and personalities? The days when radio wasn't designed to simply play music, but to create a bond/connection between the listeners, audience and its content. There was once radio fashioned and created for the community and produced by the community. This was the magic and appeal that local and mainstream radio once had - radio that drove its consumers to tune back in and listen as often as humanly possible. Radio that produced content that reflected the diversity of its demand. Radio that made individuals feel important, special and connected. It would seem that this kind of live radio has become obsolete, a fad from the past and non-existent, forever parked in the museum of wonderful media memories in the minds of those that once enjoyed access to it.
Owned, operated and influenced by the community we serve, The Voice 17104 is "radio the way it used to be" - radio that identifies with the individuals and communities it serves. We will feature a wide variety of community-produced programming content that is not necessarily provided by the larger existing commercial radio stations. 10 percent radio and 90 percent community, built around the idea of on-the-go access and listener interaction. We depend on your support and the gifts of love shared by our community to keep us on the air; providing this vital platform and doorway of expression. Help us keep our community radio alive.
